Devil Studio
This is my own personal brand, used in relation to my freelance artist & graphic design work.In particular, it is used for my social media presence in which I host my freelance self-promotion. It is also used for my branding when attending & selling at art markets and conventions. The brand set contains a full logo, alternative icon, business card, watermark, and table-display-banner (latter not yet pictured.)
The masked-person icon is used as a profile icon for my illustrative accounts.
Sketchy
"Sketchy" was a collaborative-project in which we created a board game, including packaging and branding guidelines. My specific role was to ideate and design the branding & logo, starting with physical sketches and proceeding until coming to the final design. My two teammates each worked on the game rules with one another, and all three of us collaborate when designing the overall packaging & physical material.
Bean Bag Coffee
"Bean Bag Coffee" was a collaborative-project, in which we designed a proof-of-concept consumption product with sustainability in mind.We designed an all-in-one pour over coffee product, designed with materials that are compostable and/or reusable. One specific "marketable" use of the reusability was the packaging being created from plantable seed paper, for use in gardening. My role in the project was to design the branding, iconography, and typography, while my classmate concepted, ideated, and researched for the product itself.
Dark Horse Rebrand
This student project was an exercise in creating an alternative branding style for an existing company.I chose Dark Horse Comic, creating an alternative and selecting new fonts for the brand style. The intent for the alternative branding was for it to primary be used for in-house items, such as day-to-day stationary and employee incentive items.
Magazine Ad
A print-based advertisment I developed this graphic depicting a "Dragon Ball Z" figure of Son Goku. The design is primarily inspired by advertising I would see in my youth when reading magazine & comic. When creating this faux-advertisement, I reviewed and studied the ads found in those same comics. Additional research was done for how this genre of ad is used in current pop culture comics & magazines.
Nintendo Power
This student project was a typographic rebranding of a magazine of our choosing. I chose the Nintendo Power magazine, and custom made a pixel-style for the font, making reference to the classic gaming days. The key-art for games was assembled with the type-logo. The game-logos were also edited into into the corner of the "cover," where they had originally been blank.
Hidden Horrors
"Hidden Horrors" was from a student project, in which the class was assigned to design a film festival poster, with a theme of our choosing. For my poster, I went with a horror theme, and experimented with cat silhouette's featuring large, abormally placed eye-balls.The films were sourced from "shortoftheweek.com,"
Bend Elks Design(s)
These projects were designed to be posted on the Bend Elks Baseball social media accounts. The designs are built with the Bend Elks brand, including the team colors, logo, and field.Alongside these brand aspects, the designs were kept simple and clean to allow for quick conveyance of information to viewers.
Big Baron
A proof-of-concept project in designing a craft beer brand.I designed the brand with the intent to mimic the kind of aesthetics found on WWII fighter-plane nose art. The Slab style font, mono-coloring, and olive drab green packaging was selected with this stylization in mind. The woman is the detail most evocative of WWII fighter-plane nose art. Her coat is designed after military garb, but with a distinct velvet red color to match the branding colors.
